Happy New Year!

As a new year begins, we traditionally look back and appreciate the memories and accomplishments of the past year. The City of Brea would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their constant support and contribution to making Brea the special community it is. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and we wish you a year full of success, joy, good health, and prosperity. Here’s to making great memories in Brea in the New Year!

Reorganization of the Brea City Council


At the December 5, 2023 City Council Meeting, the Brea City Council reorganized as follows: 

  • Christine Marick, Mayor 
  • Blair Stewart, Mayor Pro Tem
  • Cecilia Hupp, Council Member
  • Marty Simonoff, Council Member
  • Steve Vargas, Council Member

The next Brea City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 16, at 7:00 p.m. The Council Chambers is open and available to the public. The meeting can also be viewed live on the City's government access channel and online at, cityofbrea.net/BreaTV

Parking Permit Renewals


For safety and aesthetics, overnight street parking is prohibited in the City of Brea between 2:00 and 6:00 a.m. without an annual permit. Residents requiring additional on-site parking spaces beyond those on driveways and in garages can qualify for a permit. Permits need to be prominently displayed and renewed annually.

Upcoming Night Work for Brea Mall Construction


As part of the Brea Mall redevelopment project, nighttime construction work is scheduled to begin after the holidays. To install underground utilities and storm drains, a Caltrans permit has been issued for this work to be performed during the hours of 10:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. Temporary traffic control signs will be placed on Imperial Highway and Randolph Avenue. During construction, Randolph Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Sidewalks on the east side of Randolph will be closed to pedestrians.

New Businesses Now Open


Fogo De Chao - 311 S. State College Blvd. 

Fogo De Chao is now open and located at the Brea Imperial Center, located at the Southwest corner of State College Blvd. and Imperial Hwy. Fogo De Chao is an upscale, nationally acclaimed Brazilian Churrasco restaurant, and is expected to be a great addition to the City.
