On June 5 and 6, the Los Angeles County Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn east of Tonner Canyon Rd, for training purposes and as part of their fuel reduction plan. They will be burning 10-18 acres per day, for a total of 36 acres. If weather conditions are favorable and the prescribed burn takes place as scheduled, there is no threat to the Brea community, but residents may see and smell smoke in the northeast portion of the City. As a safety precaution, LA County Fire personnel will remain onsite for at least two days after the burn operation is complete to ensure the fire is completely out.
